Fortnite servers will be disabled this morning by Epic Games as they prepare to release the all-new update and version 11.01 of the Game Notes Patch.
This means that matchmaking will be temporarily disabled for all Fortnite modes, including Battle Royale, Save the World and Creative.
Similarly, it should be mentioned that it is ALL platforms. This means that players on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC and mobile will not be able to connect.
As mentioned earlier, Epic Games is putting Fortnite offline this morning so the team can release the new v11.01 update for the new edition of Fortnite Chapter 2.
The next big Fortnite update is expected this morning after the server crash last night.
“Hello everyone, we have the patch v11.01 planned for tomorrow,” confirms a message from Epic Games.
“This patch includes new content for Save the World and fixes some known game issues. Downtimes start at 4:00 am ET (8:00 am UTC). ”
For those who ask, it will be 9 am GMT for everyone living in the UK.
Technically, Epic Games did not give details on the duration of downtime today.
But players normally start the game 20 minutes before the start of the timeout, which usually takes at least two hours.
Based on past downtimes and updates, we estimate that the game will be available online again at around 11:00 GMT.
The accuracy of a standard service message is not clear, but it should also be noted that before, the game server’s status page suggested that scheduled maintenance of an update of this size and scope would last “09: 00-11: 00 UTC”.
This could very easily change, nothing is 100% accurate, but for now, we have at least a reasonable idea of the downtime it will take.
Unless something catastrophic happens with the update … but if this situation arose, we would be able to update you.
Since this is the first proper update since the launch of the new season, we could also see many leaks and new content.
So stay tuned, we should have some interesting discoveries in the hours to come.
