In a week already filled with information on Bully 2 and Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC, there was only one thing that could possibly go beyond some official information GTA 6 .
Yes, of course we are referring to Sony casually announcing the release date of PS5 and a host of features of the PlayStation 5 console in an exclusive WIRED report.
For those who have missed it, click on the link above to get all the juicy details. But the crux of the problem is that the PlayStation 5 will launch Holiday 2023. Similarly, alongside the Xbox Scarlett, another fight to die to see which console will reign for the next generation of consoles.
However, that’s probably not the reason you came here.
What is interesting is that, as a result of this announcement, an insider and / or a source of knowledge from Rockstar Games @ TezFunz2 made a rather striking comment, which could have major consequences for purchasers of game consoles.
When will GTA 6 be released?
“Now that the Playstation 5 launches the 2023 holiday, I think we can be certain that the next Rockstar title will not be available before 2023 or 2023 “they have enough time to finish it. ”
Asked by a fan to explain the time difference between 2023 and 2023, TezFunz2 simply replied as follows:
” Yes, I am aware of this. However, it is typical for Rockstar to delay his games later. ”
Which is true enough: More recently, Rockstar has generally been granted more time to publish something as it pleases.
If fans are watching something like Red Dead Redemption 2, for example, it was originally announced with a publication window for the fall of 2017 and was delayed further at the beginning from 2018 before being finally published on October 26, 2018.
Even at that time, the game was still far from over, at least if you accept the fact that Red Dead Online is part of the complete package.
So it seems quite understandable that GTA 6 can also be rejected.
If you take into account that Rockstar also is generally granted a year of grace since the initial initial trailer, then the idea that GTA 6 could launch 2023 holiday seems even more delusional.
Of course, we do not exclude this completely. After all, GTA 6 is supposed to be in preparation at Rockstar Games for quite some time now.
However, given the way Rockstar generally approaches their releases, Shadow seems to drop the game with a little over 13 months, which is not the case of the studio.
Notably when one has the impression that they are just starting to find their marks with Red Dead Online, largely thanks to the latest summer update, which introduced border prosecutions.
If Rockstar really wanted Red Dead Online to work in the long run, you’d imagine an extra year of support without the threat of GTA 6 and a new GTA Online experience looming on the back -plan.
