Saints Sign DT Malcom Brown To 3 Year, $15 Million Deal

Brown, 6-2, 320, comes to New Orleans after spending his first four National Football League seasons (2015-18) with the New England Patriots.

The Saints agreed to a deal with former Patriots defensive tackle Malcom Brown on Thursday, adding a big piece at a suddenly big position of need.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network first reported the signing, and Nick Underhill of the Advocate confirmed it. Brown is expected to replace Tyeler Davison as the new starting defensive tackle for New Orleans.

A total of 41 people were killed at a mosque on Deans Avenue, Ardern said, and seven were killed at a mosque on Lynwood Avenue. Investigators were said to be trying to establish whether or not the other two people arrested were involved in the attacks.

The first few seasons of Brown's career have been fortuitous for the four-year player, as he won two Super Bowl trophies with the New England Patriots.

With all that, the Saints were in the market for a defensive tackle, and now have one in Brown. While his sack numbers don't exactly jump off the page (he had 8.5 sacks in four years, and zero sacks in all of 2018), he was a valuable run-stuffer and a penetrating force inside.

New England declined to pick up the 5th year team option from his rookie contract last offseason, leading him into free agency this year. Brown is a 25-year-old nose tackle specialist, tipping the scales at 6 feet 2, 320 pounds.
