Winter Storm Watch For Much Of Nebraska

Temperatures will reach the mid-30s, and gusts of 30 miles per hour are expected near Lake Michigan.

Monday starts a bit damp and slippery, but ultimately drier weather is ahead the rest of the day. Farther south, temperatures are expected to remain above freezing with only a cold rain expected. By that time, temperatures will be in the upper 30s. Highs will be in the low to mid 20s. Lows will be in the low-teens. A light wind remains, so wind chills feel like the teens at times.

Meanwhile, enjoy the sunshine on Tuesday with views such as Jan Somma-Hammel's Caribbean-style sunrise over the fishing pier in Ocean Breeze, pictured above. An early look at the storm system seems to indicate snow beginning to fall Friday night into Saturday morning, then a mix of rain, sleet, and snow on Saturday. One question we still have is when does the change to plain old rain occur, instead of the mixture of sleet and ice.
