Anthony Davis blasts team after blowout loss: ‘We sucked’

New Orleans Pelicans superstar Anthony Davis had one of the worst games of his National Basketball Association career in Tuesday's 118-88 loss to the Orlando Magic, ripping into his team's effort after a hugely disappointing loss. After the 118-88 loss, Davis was dejected and clearly not optimistic about the rest of the season.

Davis made a trade request shortly before the deadline, but the Pelicans opted not to execute a deal and will instead wait until the offseason to resolve the situation.

ESPN's Ramona Shelburne reports that the injury is just a contusion - it's "nothing too bad", a source tells her - and Davis could still play in Sunday's All-Star Game after receiving treatment for the injury in Charlotte, site of this year's game. "When you play like that against a team who's fighting, you should expect that result". "Seemed like nobody was interested in playing".

This marked the third game back for Davis since returning from a finger injury.

Vucevic had 25 points and 17 rebounds, Evan Fournier scored 22 points, and Jonathan Isaac scored a career-high 20 points, including 16 in the first quarter, when Orlando raced to a 39-11 lead.

As it relates to Pelicans head coach Alvin Gentry, he's pretty much done talking about the entire situation.

Japanese PM Shinzo Abe nominated me for Nobel peace prize, says Trump
Currently, the two sides are working on a second meeting, which is expected to take place in Hanoi, Vietnam, on 27-28 February. The leadership of Russia, Iran and Turkey all welcomed Trump's decision to pull all USA troops out of Syria.

"It's just hard, you know, we want guys to be professional and do this, but it's hard for guys to go through what they've been through".

"What we're trying to do is just move on from it", Gentry said.

Only two starters finished the game in double figures, and Davis wasn't one of them.

Pelicans: 3-7, averaging 109.6 points, 47.5 rebounds, 26.4 assists, 5.8 steals and six blocks per game while shooting 46.2 percent from the field.

Wojnarowski also noted that the Pelicans would "push back on Anthony Davis preferred trade destinations". Fans travel to see big players, and the league doesn't want to mess with the integrity of the games (or betting lines).

Still, what we all saw as a healthy relationship coming to an end is quickly turning ugly. That's all I want to do.
