Duke of Edinburgh involved in auto crash

Prince Philip has been left "very shocked and shaken" after his Land Rover flipped and collided with another vehicle near the Sandringham Estate.

The 97-year-old Duke was not injured in the accident, which occurred just before 3pm today (January 17).

According to the BBC, eyewitnesses said the vehicle the duke was driving was overturned in the smash.

Prince Philip, the Queen's husband, has been involved in a collision near the Sandringham estate in eastern England, Buckingham Palace says.

"The Duke was not injured".

It's police policy to make sure drivers involved in a auto accident are not above the drink drive limit, and both Prince Philip and the other driver were breathalysed.

Pictures from the scene showed a Range Rover overturned on the side of the road. Both tests came back as negative.

Eyewitnesses said the Land Rover was left "turned over" and left on its side.

Prince Philip had been staying at the Sandringham Estate with the Queen for the Christmas period, and is said to have been checked over by a doctor at the estate.

"Eyewitness Roy Warne said: "[Philip] stood up and was unharmed but was obviously very shocked.

It's been reported both Prince Philip and the other driver were breathalysed at the scene.

The duke famously drove the Obamas when the then-US president and first lady visited Windsor in 2016.

Prince Philip was involved in a vehicle crash Thursday afternoon.

While there is no legal limit on driving ages in the United Kingdom, motorists have to renew their licence at least 90 days before reaching the age of 70, and then every three years after that. Eyewitnesses told the BBC the auto the duke was driving was overturned.
