Trump's Undocumented Golf Club Housekeepers Speak Out

"An employee of the golf course drives her and a group of others to work every day, she says, because it is known that they can not legally obtain driver's licenses". The housekeeper has spent the past five years working at the club in Bedminster, New Jersey.

Morales and Diaz - who both cleaned Trump's clothes and personal space at Bedminster - recalled generally being treated well by Trump, at times receiving $50 or $100 tips, but Morales said her supervisors have made more of an issue of her immigration status since Trump declared his presidential candidacy - though an unnamed manager still helped her obtain a false green card.

Morales' story is corroborated by Sandra Diaz, a legal resident of the US who worked at Bedminster for years while she was still an undocumented worker from Costa Rica.

The New York Times reports that Morales admitted she isn't the only worker at the club who is in the country illegally either. "There are many people without papers", Diaz said of the club's staff. Morales also said that her supervisor would sometimes demean employees as being "stupid illegal immigrants" who are less intelligent than dogs.

The Guatemala native spoke to The New York Times about how she travelled to New Jersey after illegally crossing the border nearly 20 years ago.

She says she washed and ironed Trump's white boxers, golf shirts, and khakis.

The internet also mocked Giuliani for blaming Twitter instead of realizing he created the link. It is not the first time that conservatives have accused Twitter of acting against them.

Morales and Sandra Diaz, a former Bedminster employee who is now a legal USA resident, reached out to the Times through their lawyer, who is representing them in "immigration matters". Morales and a few other workers are driven to work every day by a company shuttle because the golf course knows they can't legally get a driver's license.

The Trump Organization, which owns the golf course, did not comment to the New York Times about the women profiled in the report.

During the 2016 election, Trump boasted that he used a verification system to make sure "we didn't have one illegal immigrant on the job". He claimed, "We didn't have one illegal immigrant on the job".

Morales kept silent for the first two years of Trump's presidency, despite remarks that hurt her. "If he arrives suddenly, everyone runs around like crazy" Diaz told the New York Times.

Since Trump was elected president, he has launched several attacks on Latin American immigrants, at times comparing them to violent criminals.

Victorina Morales, a native of Guatemala, told the newspaper she had crossed into the United States illegally in 1999 and was hired at the club in 2013 as a housekeeper using phony documentation. "We sweat it out and attend to his every need and have to put up with his humiliation".
