Cowboys acquire WR Cooper from Raiders for first-rounder

The Cowboys have made a bold midseason move to bolster their wide receiving corps, agreeing to trade a 2019 first-round pick to the Oakland Raiders for fourth-year wideout Amari Cooper.

Cowboys receiver Allen Hurns told NFL Network's Jane Slater that Cooper is a "great addition".

Meantime, Oakland is 1-5 and looking toward the future.

Cooper is in the NFL's concussion protocol, but the Raiders are on a bye this week and don't play again until October 28 against Indianapolis.

With their season all but officially flushed down the toilet, this team does not need Cooper, who has been seriously underwhelming of late.

Cooper is entering his fifth-year option next season. He started his career with consecutive 1,000-yard seasons and had two 100-yard games this season, but had just two targets and one catch since the second of those games.

The disappointing Oakland Raiders can be looked at in a lot of different ways right now, but boring clearly isn't one of them. This trend continued with Cooper, and Oakland did very well to snatch a first-round pick in the deal.

Last season in a matchup the Eagles won 19-10, Cooper had 3 catches, for 66 yards and that 63-yard touchdown you just witnessed in the video above on Jalen Mills.
