IOS 12 powering more than half the iPhones, iPads: Apple

"iOS 11 peaked at the 85 percent installation mark two weeks before iOS 12 was released". That includes iPhone, iPad and sixth generation iPod touch, and is outpacing iOS 11's adoption rate for the same period a year ago.

It took 50 days-about twice as long-for iOS 11 to achieve 50 percent of gadgets. When the data set is expanded to include iOS devices that were released before 2014, that adoption rate still stands at a respectable 50%.

Yeah, you laugh, but emoji are one of the biggest update drivers, because people are people, and those aren't coming until iOS 12.1, a little later this fall.

iOS 12 was officially rolled out on September 17 and has since been adopted by more than 50% of the Apple devices so far becoming the fastest and popular iOS till date but with ChargeGate, WiFi, Bluetooth, and other errors, Apple rolled out a bug fix update i.e. iOS 12.0.1. In the current case, the company is reflecting the growth in the adoption of iOS 12 by the users of the iPhone 6 and later models. This is a much faster adoption rate as compared to numerous previous versions of iOS.

Knicks Waive And Stretch Joakim Noah
Noah totaled 53 games over two seasons with the Knicks, averaging fewer than five points. The Knicks will waive and stretch the remaining $38 million on Noah's contract.

iOS 12 is set to receive a minor update sometime soon, introducing new emoji and group FaceTime calls.

Apple's latest iteration of its iPhone and iPad software is running on more than half of the total devices. That simply means 40 per cent of the devices are running on iOS 11, while only 7 per cent are powered by older versions of the mobile operating system. Users are also reporting increasing battery drain with the iOS 12.1 update.

It is likely that the faster adoption pace of iOS 12 is down to Apple's decision to make the release focus more on maintenance and improving performance for older hardware. The slow spread of Android maybe due to the large number of devices present in the market.
