Coldplay to release career-spanning movie next month

A Head Full of Dreams will be available on Amazon Prime Video in the United Kingdom, U.S., Australia and New Zealand starting November 16 after premiering in more than 2,000 cinemas worldwide on November 14, in collaboration with Trafalgar Releasing. Dude seems dead-set on making a movie about every iconic British rock band of the past few decades, but it sounds like he's maintained a special relationship with Coldplay throughout. A Head Full of Dreams tracks the band's ascent over the last 20 years, culminating with their most recent studio album - which shares its name with the film.

The documentary film is being directed by Mat Whitecross, who has known the band since the time the band members were in college. The trailer includes an intriguingly heavy dose of early, pre-success VHS footage of the band, looking scraggly and way more ne'er-do-wellish than the neon-colored, well-kept Coldplay we know and kind of hate these days.

Supersonic director Matt Whitecross helmed the new documentary.

Coldplay will be the subjects of an upcoming documentary dubbed A Head Full of Dreams. Whitecross previously directed several of Coldplay's music videos, including "Paradise" and "A Sky Full of Stars". Throughout the teaser for the project, you'll see live footage of their 2017 A Head Full of Dreams Tour, interviews, and much more. Chris Martin with a mouth full of braces bragging about how Coldplay is going to be the biggest band in the world is something to behold. They will be available from Friday, Oct. 26 and are "Stayin' Alive (Live at Glastonbury)" by Coldplay & Barry Gibb, "Us Against The World (Live in Leipzig)" and "Don't Panic (Live in Paris)".
