Congressman’s Misuse of Campaign Funds Includes $1,500 in Steam Games

Hunter did admit that he said "F-k the Navy" after his request for a tour of a naval base in Italy - a cover story for the family vacation - was turned down. I can not say the same, however, for those within our justice system that have a political agenda to harm those with whom they differ.

US Rep Duncan Hunter, who you may remember from a 2016 report alleging he spent campaign money on Steam games, has been indicted on charges of "wire fraud, falsifying records, campaign finance violations and conspiracy", CNN reports.

The Hunters are accused of conspiracy to commit offenses against the USA, wire fraud, falsification of records and prohibited use of campaign contributions. After more improper expenses came to light after the video games item, Hunter wrote them off again as mistakes, and did reimburse his campaign about $62,000. Clothing purchases at a golf course were falsely reported as golf "balls for the wounded warriors".

The Hunters are accused of using campaign funds to pay personal bills big and small, from luxury vacations to kids' school lunches and delinquent family dentistry bills, according to the indictment.

The congressman is said to have spent $1,000 on a "personal ski trip" to Lake Tahoe with another unnamed person. This is evidenced by the fact that after two years of investigating, the Department of Justice chose to take this action right before my election.

"And she was also the campaign manager", he added.

Mr Cooper, 69, and Mrs Cooper, 63, from Burney in Lancashire, were on holiday with their daughter and her three children. However, hotel general manager Dieter Geiger strongly denied there was "an increased incidence of illness" at the resort.

The congressman's aide said at the time that the "cabin rabbit transport fees" were a simple error.

In a statement, House Speaker Paul Ryan called the charges "deeply serious" and said Hunter will be removed from his committee assignments, pending resolution of the case.

The Hunter family is a political dynasty in the area. Hunter describes the trips, however, as fundraisers and just business as usual. On Aug. 8, U.S. Representative Christopher Collins of NY was charged with taking part in an insider trading scheme.

In a scathing editorial, his hometown newspaper, the San Diego Union Tribune, called on him to quit immediately, saying: "He has disgraced himself more thoroughly than his critics ever could".

The 29-year-old former Obama administration Labor Department official whose father is a Palestinian Muslim and mother a Mexican-American Catholic has never held elected office. What a mess for California Republicans for what is considered a "safe" seat. President Donald Trump won Hunter's district by 15 points while losing statewide by more than 4 million votes in 2016.

Democratic congressional candidate Ammar Campa-Najjar was working on a TV advertisement to boost his exposure when news broke that his opponent, the heavily favored Republican U.S. Rep. Duncan Hunter, was indicted. The details are enough to make anyone raise an eyebrow, if true.
