Steve Jobs lied to daughter about name of Apple Lisa

Ahead of the book's early-September debut, Vanity Fair was able to get their hands on a pre-release copy, from which they've shared excerpts where Lisa-Brennan Jobs describes in no uncertain terms her troubled relationship with Steve, his last days on Earth, and her early life being denied and, ultimately, accepted by him. Since Steve wasn't going to help financially, Lisa's mother had to work multiple jobs in order to provide for her daughter.

"You know who I am?" he asked, flipping his hair out of his eyes. According to Business Insider, all of Jobs fortune went to Powell and her children. "My existence ruined his streak".

After their initial meeting, Brennan-Jobs writes that Steve visited her more often, offering to take her on outings like a ride in his Porsche, on rollerskating trips, out to dinner, and even hot tub excursions, but their relationship still had its fissures.

In her upcoming memoir, Lisa Brennan-Jobs, late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs' daughter has revealed that her father lied about naming a computer after her. "The court required my father to cover welfare back payments, child-support payments of $385 per month, which he increased to $500, and medical insurance until I was 18". She once asked her father if the computer was named after her.

"'You're not getting anything, ' he said". I braced myself - prepared for his answer.

I sat up in my chair.

It wasn't until 1987 when Lisa was nine-years-old that Jobs finally acknowledged that she was his daughter.

"'I thought so, ' Bono said". 'You understand? Nothing. You're getting nothing.' Did he mean about the auto, something else, bigger?

"'Absolutely not, ' he said in such a sour, biting way that I knew I'd made a mistake", she wrote.

During one visit, she used a facial mist from his bathroom before saying goodbye.

She also recalled believing that her father replaced his Porsche every time it had a scratch and asking whether she could have one when he got rid of it. "The spray was natural, which meant that over the course of a few minutes it no longer smelled sharp like roses, but fetid and stinky like a swamp, although I didn't realise it at the time".

"I don't remember feeling at a disadvantage with my friends who had fathers, only that there was at my fingertips another magical identity, an extra thing that started to itch and tingle when I felt small, and it was like pressure building inside me, and then I had to find a way to say it. For me, it was the opposite: The closer I was to him, the less I would feel ashamed; he was part of the world, and he would accelerate me into the light".
