New Lamborghini Aventador SVJ smashes 'Ring lap record!

Lamborghini is planning to unveil a lighter and faster Aventador later this summer, but the automaker is already working on this raging bull's resumé.

In a series of Instagram posts leading up to the confirmation of the new record, Lamborghini showed the camouflage-wrapped SVJ along with brief teasers like "designed to have the best weight to power ratio" and "designed to have the best aerodynamic efficiency".

That brings the Nürburgring production vehicle record back to the Lambo camp with a run around the 'Ring of 6 minutes and 44.97 seconds.

And if you sit down and do the math, you might be more than a bit intrigued. Previously released videos have boasted about the auto having "the best aerodynamic efficiency" and claims of class-leading power-to-weight ratios have also been made. Which is just Spanish for the letter j. SVJ rolls off the tongue a little more easily than SuperVeloce Jota, so that's nice.

While it's €3m shy of what the club paid for the player last summer, they would also be saving themselves €14m per year in wages.

The display can also stream live or recorded YouTube TV shows , YouTube Music, HBO Now, Google Play Music, Spotify and Pandora. One of the cooler features, in my opinion, is the option to get step-by-step cooking recipes with Google Assistant.

Lamborghini says that the Jota follows company tradition for "denoting a car's track-focused talent". The latest addition to the Aventador lineup lapped the 'Ring in 6 minutes, 44 seconds - that's about three seconds faster than the Porsche 911 GT2 that took the record past year. Also expect an active aerodynamics system similar to that fitted to the Huracán Performante, along with various other dynamic tweaks.

We also know that the electronic systems of the Aventador SVJ's all-wheel drive, rear-wheel steering, and traction and stability control have all been tuned for improved performance as well.

Watch the in-car video showing the entire 6m 44.97-second lap with factory driver Marco Mapelli behind the wheel. The answer is probably a double "yes", but we'll have to wait for the car's debut at the Monterey Car Week next month to be certain. It's changing that reputation with the Huracan Performante first and now the Aventador SVJ. In the meantime, let's listen to the song from J.
