Trump’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star destroyed - again

A man who took a pickax to Donald Trump's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame early Wednesday has turned himself into police, authorities said.

On Wednesday morning around 3:30 a.m. local time, police were called to the President of the United States' star on Hollywood Boulevard near Highland Avenue. Then, he reportedly called the police on himself but left the scene before they arrived.

In February 2017, the month after Trump's inauguration, the man named James Otis pleaded no contest to felony vandalism.

A street artist constructed a tiny wall around Trump's star in July 2016, and in October of that year, the LAPD arrested a man who they said vandalized the star with a sledgehammer and a pickax.

Adrian Rodriguez, a 42-year-old Los Angeles schoolteacher, said: "I don't condone vandalism but I can certainly see the frustration ..."

Leron Gubler, president and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, said in a statement that the Walk of Fame is "an institution celebrating the positive contributions of the inductees". "Our democracy is based on respect for the law. What did Donald Trump do to you?' Then he went around the corner and I think he left".

Gregg Donovan stood over the star to protect it from further damage. "Now, he's nowhere to be found. @NBCLA", Gonzalez tweeted.

About an hour after vandalizing the star, Clay walked into Beverly Hills police headquarters, where he identified himself, the newspaper reported.

Other previous acts of vandalism on the star include someone spray-painting a swastika and "mute" icon, numerous witness accounts of people stomping, spitting and writing on it, and someone even placing a pile of dog poop on the star.
