Jeff Sessions says no one wants to split families

The plight of migrant children at the U.S. -Mexico border has taken over the news, stemming from a "zero-tolerance" policy announced in April by Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Jenkins' office said the separations highlight the need to pass immigration reform in order to put an end to "this very bad policy".

Although Parscale is calling for the firing of Attorney General Jeff Sessions, apparently as a means to end the Mueller investigation, it isn't likely that the investigation would be halted simply by getting rid of Sessions. "The government should be in the business of keeping families together, not tearing them apart". Trump officials, so far, have shown no interest in backing away from the "zero tolerance" policy, under which any person caught illegally crossing the border will be prosecuted. It does not call for family separation.

On Tuesday, Politico explicitly backed the former USA attorneys by stating that "there is no law requiring families be separated at the border, only a policy established by the Trump administration that could just as easily be rescinded".

The fact notwithstanding that many Germans find any comparison to the Holocaust anathema, considering it an event so singular and horrific that making analogies to it is disrepectful to its victims, the reaction in Germany is sure to be one of swift condemnation, just as it was to Trump's tweet about crime on Monday. "That is why I joined my colleagues in cosponsoring H.Res.927 which condemns the Administration's blanket policy of separating children from parents if they cross the USA border illegally or in search of asylum".

Prior to Trump assuming the role of president, anyone who brought a child with them across the border was given "immunity from prosecution". He says without enforcing the laws, "we encourage hundreds of thousands of people year to likewise ignore our laws and illegally enter our country".

Brazil Coach Tite Disappointed With Draw Versus Switzerland

"As former U.S. Attorneys, we know that none of these consequences ― nor the policy itself ― is required by law", they wrote in their letter to Sessions. "We're taking care of these children".

Still, Trump argued children are being used "by some of the worst criminals on earth" to enter the U.S illegally.

"The stories from the border make me ill".

Sessions blamed loopholes in USA immigration laws for encouraging the jump in asylum-seekers entering the country illegally.

The stepped-up criticism comes after the department's internal watchdog released a report last week that criticized the FBI's handling of the 2016 probe into Hillary Clinton's emails but said political bias didn't affect the outcome of the investigation that eventually cleared her.
