Vanna White mentions her performance on Wheel of Fortune for helping her after the tragic death of her fiance.
The blonde bombshell has been a main component of the syndicated game show for almost four decades. White started her revolving letter duties in 1982 and has become a staple in the game show world.
It was her chemistry with host, Pat Sajak, who convinced show maker Merv Griffin to give her the pioneering job.
“He said it was like fraternal and sisterly chemistry,” said the 62-year-old in People magazine.
White explains that she and her friend Sajak had only one fight in the time they knew each other. It was more a fight about whether or not to hear ketchup on a hot dog. Chicago native Sajak said ketchup is forbidden on a hot dog.
White struck a tragedy in 1986 when her fiancé The Young and the Restless actor John Gibson was murdered. The Gibson plane flew crashed outside the Van Nuys airport near Los Angeles.

After announcing her pregnancy through a show puzzle, White had to viewers a few weeks later say that she lost the baby. Again, the outpouring of love and support from the fans has had an extraordinary impact on her recovery.
