Earlier this month, Lil Kim caused quite a stir when she addressed her fans as the Beehive during an acceptance speech at the BET Hip Hop Awards. Those who were indignant were none other than the “Beyhive” aka Beyonce & Stans, who claimed she could not name her fan base because it sounded too close to their own name.
Now the female rapper addresses the entire recoil, making it very clear that the Bijenkorf was first called the Bijenkorf!
But while the fans of Beyonce wrongly called her, it appears that the female emcee have no hard feelings!
During an interview with Hot 97 host Ebro Darden, Lil & Kim started the entire hive versus Beyhive controversy, later shared by the Shade Room.
“Have you and Beyoncé ever discussed the Bijenkorf?”, The host also asked her to confirm that her fans were indeed called the Bijenkorf first.
In response, Lil ’Kim, who is also referred to by her fans as the Queen Bee, said:“ Yes, first. That was me. And then I had a group. As if that was my – Beehive, that was my whole thing. So my fans changed the name a bit.
In fact, she further said that some of the most devoted of her fans would appear in bee shirts during her concerts!

But that doesn’t mean she has anything against Beyonce fans also call themselves the Beyhive: & I think Beyoncé has the right to call itself Queen Bee. I mean her name is Beyonce! ”
