Southern Charm has delayed filming for next season, and this one times it is not because of a natural disaster. In September 2018, Bravo had to reduce production due to hurricane Florence. But this time the production has stopped because the current cast has brought no drama. Is it time to bring Thomas Ravenel back?
According to Radar Online no one in the cast started filming season 7. Kathryn Dennis, Shep Rose, Austen Kroll, Cameran Eubanks, Craig Conover, Chelsea Meissner and Naomie Olindo all take a break because nothing is wrong and that could mean that the future of the show is in danger.
“Bravo is looking for new cast members and there are just no storylines they really want to deal with,” an insider revealed. “None of the cast members are filming. The drama just wasn’t there last season and the show is in trouble.
Just before filming last season, Bravo fired Ravenel after two women claimed to have been sexually abused and just before he and Dennis in a nasty custody battle. Since then, Ravenel has said he is sorry for the reality show, and he has even sued the Bravo production company and Southern Charm’s to stop Dennis talking about their custody case.
The one-year custody war of Ravenel and Dennis finally ended, with Ravenel remaining the primary keeper of their two children – Kensie and Saint – and the exes split 50/50 custody. However, the court ordered Dennis to have a babysitter supervise all her visiting time with the children and Ravenel has to pay for it.
Their guardianship agreement also states that neither of the children can view Southern Charm until they are 13, and neither Ravenel nor Dennis can let anyone spend the night in their children care.
Ravenel also made a plea in his attack case and managed to avoid imprisonment. He agreed to pay one of his accusers – former babysitter Dawn Ledwell – $ 125,000 as a settlement for her attorney’s fees and a donation to charity People Against Rape .
Now that the custody case of Ravenel and Dennis is over and its criminal cases are over settled, will the former treasurer from South Carolina consider going back to Southern Charm ? Would Bravo even consider it? As fans know, it was Thomas Ravenel and Kathryn Dennis who always brought the drama. And the insider says it has to happen again, because that is what the producers are looking for.
