This season on Dancing With the Stars, Sailor-Brinkley Cook stepped in at the last minute and took the place of her mother Christie Brinkley in the show after the former supermodel broke her arm during rehearsals. The 21-year-old has a very close relationship with her mother and insiders say that she has the same close relationship with her father, Hamptons-based architect Peter Cook. Will Cook’s engagement with the age of a woman cause Sailor problems?
Christie Brinkley married Peter Cook in 1996 – it was Brinkley’s fourth marriage and Cook’s first – but they divorced in 2008 after Brinkley discovered that Cook had an affair with Diana Bianchi, his 19-year-old assistant. He was also accused of having relationships with another former employee, 18-year-old Samantha Cole. Cook would have suggested to Cole three months before he asked Brinkley the question.
The divorce of Brinkley and Cook has become filthy, but an insider says this has not affected Sailor’s relationship with her father.
“Despite the bitter break between Peter and Christie, Sailor has a very close relationship with her father,” the source told People Magazine. She is always enthusiastic about him. But she never said a word about his personal life or the new girlfriend. ”
The 60-year-old Cook is now engaged to the 21-year-old Alba Jancou. The couple has been dating for about a year and Cook has reportedly proposed during a recent vacation in Santorini, Greece with a six-carat Glenn Bradford diamond ring. Jancou becomes Cook & third wife since he was briefly married to Suzanne Shaw after his split from Brinkley.
According to Page Six Jancou is a student at the University of Tulane and is scheduled to graduate in 2023. Before his studies, Jancou went to Millfield, a prestigious boarding school in England.
“We consider ourselves an incredible happiness to have found our soulmate in each other,” Cook said in a statement to Page Six . “We look forward to many years of wedded bliss!”
Although Sailor has not made any public statements about her father and his new fiancé, she has called her father her “best friend” and her “rock in Instagram posts. In a birthday post for her father last summer, Sailor wrote: “I love you to the moon and back forever and ever.”
Sailor Brinkley-Cook – together with her partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy – was the third participant disabled on season 28 of Dancing With the Stars despite strong scores for each of their dances in the first few weeks. New episodes of DWTS air on ABC on Monday evening.
