The parents of Casey Anthony, George and Cindy Anthony, appear on Dr. Oz on Halloween on October 31, 2019, where they will give an update on their daughter’s life, how they handle the death of their granddaughter, Caylee Anthony, and rumors that Casey Anthony plans to have another baby.
At one point, Casey Anthony was seen as the most hated woman in America, and she still has that title with many. Casey and her two-year-old daughter Caylee Marie were last seen together on June 16, 2008 in the home of George and Cindy Anthony. Casey left and had thin contact with her parents for a month. On July 15, 2008, Cindy Anthony tracked down her daughter, only Caylee was not with her.
After hearing several false stories and calling the police several times, an investigation was underway with the Orange County Sheriff office in Orlando.
Casey Anthony said Caylee was abducted.
Six months after the disappearance of Caylee Marie Anthony, on December 11, 2008, the bones of the deceased two-year-old toddler were found, less than a mile from her family’s home.
The public prosecutor said that Casey had put duct tape on her daughter’s mouth and nose and had stitched her to death. The defense said Caylee accidentally drowned in the family’s pool on June 16, 2008.
On July 5, 2011, Casey Anthony was acquitted of the crimes she was accused of: first-degree murder, aggravated manslaughter, and aggravated child abuse. She was found guilty of four charges of law enforcement.
During Casey Anthony’s trial, her defense team led by Jose Baez presented the story that Casey had suffered sexual abuse for years through her father, George Anthony. He argued that Casey learned how to lie, and became an expert in lying after years of hiding abuse.
Although many people in the audience were not convinced of that theory, the jury found that there was not enough evidence to condemn Casey.
The defense strategy has put Casey Anthony at odds with her parents, especially her father, George Anthony, who has still not seen his daughter. George Anthony fell into depression when Caylee disappeared and tried suicide. He will also talk a little about this during the interview with Dr. Oz
