The stars of Vanderpump Rules went from simple SURvers to the reality royalty apparently from one day to the next. In a new podcast appearance, Jax Taylor reveals exactly how much he has received to film the show and more.
Although they worked in one of the most popular places in WEHO, the bartenders at SUR were barely able to pay their expensive rent in California. That all changed when the real housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Vanderpump brought the idea for a spin-off to Stassi Schroeder who was dating the resident playboy at that time.
Jax explained on the Heather McDonald podcast: “I worked at SUR for about a month and a half before I even knew about this show. Lisa came to Stassi and said: & Listen, I have this idea for a show. What do you think? ”
He further said how he actually won the jackpot because he had $ 30,000 in debt and received a salary of $ 15,000 for movie season one. It may not sound like much, but between the show money, his regular salary of swinging drinks (not to mention about models) and the various approval options that the exposure brought with it – Taylor quickly went from rag to rich.
It is reported that he earns more than $ 25,000 per episode for the newer seasons.
He also discussed his feud with Billie Lee. The transgender activist left the show after being bullied.
Later she started calling the 40-year-old because she was verbally violent and made alarming remarks outside the camera.
Taylor said: “I don’t even talk to [Billie]. She went deep. ”
He also addressed the allegations of transphobia that Lee had directed at the cast for leaving her out of girls’ night.
“I think she really didn’t know how to handle the show and I think the things she said about the cast were not true at all. Such things are extremely sensitive, especially in the time we are currently in. So, accusing people of saying such things, especially saying things about us that were so untrue, as if we were against the LGBTQ community, is not right. And we didn’t want something like that around.
