Now that the most intense, intriguing and darkest villian ‘Joker’ has received it’s own spin-off movie. The role that had been played exquisitely by Heath Ledger in Nolan’s ‘The Dark Night’ and Joaquin Phoenix is yet on the judgement panel of whether he was better or could just nearly justify his performance as Joker.
The DC universe has been very inconsistent with actors who’ve played different characters, all of them bringing new a unique personality to the role and giving people reasons to bid for the better actor for a particular role.
Well, the character of Joker is complex – the kind of character that would take an actor immense time and dedication to make it feel real in the movie. Playing the ‘Joker’s’ role is in itself a big challenge and takes more than what we can see for an actor.
The movie ‘Joker’ played by Joaquin Phoenix is genuinely great and is receiving many great reviews ever since it has dropped. Depending on the times the movies have released and the requirement of the role – I would say, there is no comparison.
If you look closely, both the actors have done remarkable work for their roles as ‘Joker’. Playing the role of a crazy sociopath is a big deal and takes courage – both of them win and both of them are great, it’s time we start accepting the simple truths.
Heath Ledger: Well, all the whole of cinematic industry as a unison would never forget the remarkable piece of performance by Heath Ledger as Joker. The role after which ‘method acting’ became the real thing. The real form of art.
Joaquin Phoenix: The only reason one wouldn’t like his role as ‘Joker’ is because everybody has made Heath Ledger as the god of that role and no matter how good Jaoquin Phoenix would have been, it still would be an endless chase.
All respect to Heath Ledger and his historic work, but there’s always a degree of space to the versatality a character can have. Joaquin Phoenix did equally well and brought a different taste to how one perceived ‘Joker’.
