Mortal Kombat 11 is due out on April 23 for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. Ed Boon was supposed to be announcing the victor for best Sports/Racing game, but to our surprise, a shocking reveal for the next Mortal Kombat game popped up instead, giving us a release date and, surprisingly, a Nintendo Switch logo during the trailer.
Teased by Ed Boon a few minutes ago, the cover art shows off the Mortal Kombat poster boy – no, not Liu Kang.
Mortal Kombat 11 cover art features Scorpion, which shouldn’t come as a surprise for long-time fans of the series.
The director also reminded gamers of the date of the Mortal Kombat 11 presentation in an unorthodox way. We’ve seen the trailer, we’ve seen Scorpion and Raiden throwdown. If you’re unfamiliar with those, they’re kind of like Mortal Kombat titles starring DC heroes and villains, though that’s an admitted oversimplification.
More information about the game will likely be revealed on January 17, along with the first good look at gameplay.
Rousey does bear a striking resemblance to Sonya Blade, don’t you think? Who do you hope joins the roster?
To add more intrigue to this story, Ronda Rousey’s name is now attached as an internal email slip-up posted on Reddit could have revealed that she will voice one of the iconic characters in the upcoming reboot.
