Jimmy, Rosalynn Carter both released from hospital

Carter became the longest-lived president in US history in March when his age surpassed that of former President George H.W. Bush, who died November 30 at the age of 94 years, 171 days.

Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter was also admitted on Wednesday to the hospital after feeling "faint", and discharged alongside her husband.

Former President Jimmy Carter may have spent three days in the hospital, but the 94 year-old is expected to teach Sunday school at his beloved Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains, Georgia, this weekend.

As "Sunday Morning" has reported, Carter went to Maranatha Baptist Church in 1981, on the very first Sunday after he left the White House. He underwent surgery, and his doctor called the operation a success. She felt faint and was admitted to a hospital overnight for observation and testing. He plans to continue recuperating at his home in rural Plains, said a statement from Carter spokeswoman Deanna Congileo. The former president also will undergo physical therapy.
