When Gemma Swift appeared on The Jeremy Kyle Show she was ridiculed by viewers over the state of her "horrendous" teeth - but now she says she's "really glad" that she went on the recently scrapped ITV show.

According to Gemma, the only time the show got in touch with her was to offer to pay for her teeth to be fixed - in return for a second stint which led to the online abuse continuing.

A spokeswoman for Virgin Media said it will be following suit with its sister stations Virgin Media Three and Virgin Media Two, which often aired the show three hours a day. "You need to make sure that if it's too much for that person to deal with, then there is some form of aftercare".

And now, Jeremy has spoken for the first time.

Simone agreed with the pulling of the show, telling us: "Granted, Jeremy did do some nice things when he had to but all in all it was just wrong, completely wrong".

"He told us he was going to keep us together for counselling but months have gone by and I am still waiting".

She said: "It felt like they just wanted to rile you up and tell you what you should say, just to start arguments".

Steve Dymond was appearing on the show in attempt to reconcile with his fiancee who had accused him of infidelity, but after he failed the lie detector test she left him for good.

Following Thalassitis' death, ITV said that its "duty of care is a continuous and ongoing process for each [Love] Islander".

ITV said in a statement on Wednesday: "Given the gravity of recent events we have made a decision to end production of The Jeremy Kyle Show".

"He said he'd called about 300 times".
