Mayor Pete Slow Jams The News With Fallon

The "Mayor Pete" popularity train continues surging forward, and the Maltese-American has finally stepped into the shoes of highly-admired former President Barack Obama... just not the way he would have thought.

Buttoned-up Pete Buttigieg provided the ideal foil for Jimmy Fallon and The Roots in a hilarious segment of "Slow Jamming the News" on The Tonight Show.

To his credit, Mayor Pete takes Fallon's innuendos in stride, detailing some of the finer points of his campaign platform-like his plan to tour around the country in a bus leading up to the Democratic primaries next year.

"And the Roots joined in: "...booty booty booty booty rocking everywhere booty booty boot booty rocking everywhere!"

To which Buttigieg deadpans, "No, I'm just gay".
