Microsoft Surface Hub 2S is ready to roll into your office

Microsoft is working with furniture company Steelcase on a mobile stand with wheels for the new Surface Hub.

The Surface Hub 2S is a multi-touch system that Microsoft originally showed off last summer in photos and videos. Indeed, the new device will be priced at $8,999.99 in the United States and start shipping in the country in June, with additional Surface Hub markets to follow "shorlty thereafter", the company said today. It also features a 4K camera for clear video chats, as well as an eight-element microphone array to capture every voice in the room. The 50-inch model is 40 percent lighter at 61.6 pounds than the v1 Surface Hub, with a 60 percent thinner display with a thin edge and smaller 15mm bezels, according to Microsoft.

Three years after the launch of the first-gen Microsoft Surface Hub, a massive business-focused collaboration device for conference rooms that's a cross between a smart TV and a giant tablet, Microsoft formally unveiled its first major upgrade: the Surface Hub 2S.

The pricing for the smaller model will remain about the same: $8,999.99 for the 50-inch Surface Hub 2S, which will start shipping in the USA in June and can be purchased through authorized resellers. "And we can't wait to see how businesses across the globe will use Surface Hub 2S to empower their teams to work together in new ways".

It costs $9,000 - some R126,000 - and will be available in June, but other accessories like a battery pack and mobile cart that lets you cart the Surface Hub 2S around an office don't now have a price tag or release date. Microsoft is working with Steelcase to make rolling stands and mounts.

Joel Matip will nearly certainlyalmost partner Virgil van Dijk in the heart of the Liverpool defence on Wednesday. I like the way they play with the ball and without it, it's similar to how I see football.

Other accessories include a $1,400 battery expansion that gives you two hours of battery life.

One of the selling points Microsoft is touting with the 2S is portability. You'd think even larger corporations would think twice before forking over at least $10k on multiple Surface Hub 2 units. Lastly, Microsoft will also offer enterprise customers the option to run Windows 10 Pro or Enterprise on the Surface Hub 2S instead of Windows 10 Teams, which now doesn't support all app scenarios.

The device launching today is the lesser of the two, but it does, of course, retain much of the innovation that Microsoft has always planned for this hardware.

Officials on hand in NY today did not mention the Surface Hub 2X device at all during the event.
