'Avengers' Directors Release Statement Amid 'Endgame' Spoiler Leak

"Avengers: Endgame" directors, Joe and Anthony Russo, issued a plea to fans Tuesday to keep the ending of the final "Avengers" film a secret ahead of the highly-anticipated release in 10 days.

Australia is extra special and gets the film on 24 April.

Disney has made painstaking efforts to obscure Endgame's content, but the leak undercut those efforts as spoiler-heavy footage made its way online this week.

The launch of #DontSpoilTheEndgame follows a reported leak of Endgame footage that appeared online late Monday and sent long-time Marvel fans into an anti-spoiler frenzy.

Keeping actors in the dark about the true events of a film is standard practice in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Some clips have already been removed or disabled because of copyright infringement. It's not clear who initially leaked the material nor how they obtained it.

We're only a few days away from the official Avengers: Endgame premiere, which means we'll soon get spoiler-free reviews of the movie we've been dying to see from the moment Thanos snapped his fingers back in Avengers: Infinity War.

Though there is a strict veil of secrecy around the film, Avengers: Endgame might mark the departure of a host of superheroes, including Robert Downey Jr's Iron Man and actor Chris Evans' Captain America, from the MCU fold. It circulated under the hashtag #ThanosDemandsYourSilence.

This is followed by a montage of every Marvel movie, culminating in Vision's statement that "a thing isn't attractive because it lasts" and Doctor Strange's foreboding warning that "we're in the endgame now".
