'The Mandalorian' Reveals Four New Images And Gnarly Footage For The Fans

The Mandalorian will launch with Disney+ on November 12. The titular character will be played by Pedro Pascal, who previously appeared on both Game Of Thrones and Narcos. The cast also includes Gina Carano (Deadpool) as Kara Dune, an ex-Rebel Shock Trooper, and TV veteran Carl Weathers as Greef Maga, who leads a group of bounty hunters. The Mandalorian will be executive produced by Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson. He hires Pascal's Mandalorian for the job.

Snippet of the first episode was shown to Star Wars Celebration attendees at a private screening earlier this month. Pedro Pascal will, of course, be The Mandalorian, but we did find out who his castmates will be. "It was an incredible thing because - when Jon asked me to come and meet with him about something Star Wars".

The panel has some really nerdy technical stuff about how they filmed ship footage using miniatures and stuff. As they rolled out set pieces, the Stormtroopers gave them instant feedback on whether the fans would approve.

It's here we see the Mandalorian walking through town and it's an Easter egg delight. Star Wars: Rogue One explained how the Rebels obtained the plans to blow up the first Death Star before A New Hope, and Solo told the origin story of Han Solo, one of the main characters of the original movies.

Interestingly, guests will have to communicate with the creature (and his human assistants) in order to haggle for items, bartering and negociating with this character before you can make a purchase. And yes, this is a very "Werner Herzog" scene. The tone definitely seems like it has wandered from the hopefulness of most "Star Wars" projects, and the amount of deep cut characters and references seems to lend it its own idiosyncratic, esoteric vibe. And I said, 'Would you like to be a Mandalorian?'

An exact release date has yet to be announced, but The Mandalorian will arrive on Disney Plus later this year. "We love pulling all the different stories together".
