USC Could Expel Students Linked to College Admissions Bribery Scandal

The University of Southern California (at the center of the college admissions scandal that has rocked Hollywood, tech, and Twitter for the last week) has announced that it has identified current and incoming students involved in the scheme-and that those kids who are now enrolled will be prevented from registering for classes.

"USC has placed holds on the accounts of students who may be associated with the alleged admissions scheme", the university announced in an update on its website on Monday. Also, the school announced those same students' accounts have been suspended and will no longer be able to register for classes or obtain their transcripts. Upon completion of the assessments, "proper action" will be taken, which could mean "revoking admission or expulsion". "These students have been notified that their status is under review", the USC statement says. Now on top of the felony charges, the University Southern California student council is looking into their fellow students' admissions.

USC is one of at least eight universities affected by the biggest college admissions cheating investigation ever prosecuted in the US. They paid $500,000 in bribes to USC to get their two daughters, Isabella Rose and Olivia Jade admitted to the school.
