Trump complains he is being blamed for New Zealand attack

Trump tweeted Monday that the media "is working overtime to blame me for the disgusting attack in New Zealand".

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, who previously served as the first Muslim member of Congress, said Monday that "the objective evidence" demonstrates President Donald Trump is sympathetic to white supremacy.

"They will have to work very hard to prove that one", he tweeted.

During a television appearance Sunday, Mick Mulvaney, the acting White House chief of staff, said it was "absurd" to draw a connection between Trump's many statements aboutimmigration and the acts of a shooter who embraced white nationalism.

Trump said he had not seen the manifesto.

There are so many points of evidence that indicate for some reason he is reluctant to condemn white supremacy or recognize it.

Trump appeared to be referring to criticism of his response to the attack, which was allegedly carried out by a 28-year-old white supremacist claiming to be resisting genocide against white people.

It comes after the United States president was criticised for directing followers on Twitter to Breitbart, a far-right website with a history of anti-Muslim rhetoric, in the hours after the shootings at two mosques in New Zealand last week.

She suggested Trump call the Department of Justice to learn the facts about white supremacists in the US. "I'm not sure how many times we have to say that", Mulvaney told host Chris Wallace. "This isn't normal or acceptable".

"This was a disturbed individual, an evil person", Mulvaney said. "There are too many deaths", Tlaib told CNN on Sunday. Brown said he hopes Tarrant is convicted "as quickly as he can be", and "lock him up and throw away the key".
