No Powerball victor Saturday; jackpot climbs to $550 million

The Powerball lottery stirred a frenzy of interest once again this week as its jackpot neared half a billion dollars.

Nobody had the winning numbers in Saturday night's Powerball drawing.

Wednesday's estimated jackpot, $550 million, is the eighth largest in Powerball history.

The next Powerball drawing will be on Wednesday, Mar. 20. The cash option would be approximately $335 million.

Wednesday's winning numbers were 18-36-45-47-69, Powerball 14 and Power Play 3x, according to the Powerball website. One ticket sold in North Dakota is worth $2 million because the purchaser spent the extra money for the Powerplay option. One ticket sold in New Jersey matched five numbers but not the Powerball and is worth $1 million. We reported earlier how a New Hampshire woman, who a judge ruled could remain anonymous, won the Powerball after matching with the combination 12, 29, 30, 44, 61, and a Powerball 26 on January 6, 2018.

The grand prize hasn't been won since the day after Christmas.

Powerball Tickets are sold in 44 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
