Here's a Look at Huawei's Foldable Mate X

Now, on the eve of the 2019 Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona, Spain, it appears that the look and name of that device have been leaked early by a promotional banner at the event; it shows that the name of this foldable phone will be the Huawei Mate X.

We can't glean anything technical from the poster, sadly, but we can see clear design elements.

The result should be a device which is much affordable if Huawei is minded to undercut Samsung's astounding $1980 price for the Samsung Galaxy Fold.

Now Bangladesh washes its hands of Shamima Begum
But if Begum's appeal succeeds, Mr Javid will be left with egg on his face - although he will probably blame the judges. She was shown a copy of the Home Office letter that announced her British citizenship would be stripped.

There's something else in the photo detail: a lipped ridge on one end that isn't covered when folded into smartphone mode. Multiple cameras and Huawei's branding are all visible. Rather than having an outer display and then a larger one that you access by unfolding like the Galaxy Fold does, the Mate X appears to have a single panel that serves as both the outer and inner screen.

It is also worth mentioning that the display shows the Mate X as a foldable 5G phone. It's pretty likely that the other front runner for high-powered foldable phone, the Samsung Galaxy Fold, is going to pack the latest Snapdragon 855 or the company's newest Exynos chip, so Huawei could go toe-to-toe by packing the Mate X with its own next-gen Kirin chip.

Do our readers think Huawei's version is compelling? Samsung is releasing a 5G variant of the Galaxy Fold at some point, but this could mean that Huawei will be first to market. We only know for sure that it will support 5G.
