Chris Hemsworth Will Star As Hulk Hogan In New Biopic

Todd Phillips, whose credits include "War Dogs" and "The Hangover" trilogy, is attached to direct from a script by the writing team of Scott Silver and John Pollono. Also producing will be Hemsworth and Eric Bischoff. Born Terry Gene Bollea, he is perhaps the biggest star in WWE's five-decade history. Cooper had been in talks to play Vince McMahon in the McMahon biopic Pandemonium, which has been in development for several years.

He won six WWE championships and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005 by Sylvester Stallone. Producing will be Michael Sugar, the Academy Award victor behind Spotlight who will produce via his Netflix-based Sugar23, and Phillips and Bradley Cooper who will produce via their banner, Joint Effort.

Hemsworth already has familiarity with (a) Hulk, so it's a natural fit. The controversy over racial comments he made and the legal fight against Gawker for releasing his sex tape will not be the focus.
