New Zealand opener Martin Guptill and skipper Kane Williamson during their team's one-day series against Bangladesh in Christchurch.

New Zealand bowlers once again clicked as a unit and bundled Bangladesh out for a below-par total before Martin Guptill took over and smashed a stroke-filled century to get the job done for his team for the second time in as many games. The second One-Day International between New Zealand and Bangladesh was nearly a flawless replica of the previous match.Having scored an unbeaten 117 in the first ODI, Guptill once again toyed with the Bangladeshi bowlers en route to his 16th ODI century and played a key role in helping the Black Caps win the encounter by eight wickets and claim an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

It followed a similar overwhelming eight-wicket victory in game one of the three-match series when Guptill cracked a commanding 117 not out. He brought up his 16th ODI ton with a boundary through fine leg, drawing level with the retired Nathan Astle for the second most centuries for New Zealand.

"Another clinical performance for us is what we're wanting", Williamson said.

"That was a really tough series and (the) guys got taught some harsh lessons and it's important you learn from those".

Guptill was out of sorts in the recent ODI series against India where tight bowling restricted him to a top score of 15.

After rolling Bangladesh for 226, Guptill made a flying start in New Zealand's reply as they passed through 10 overs at 59 for one while Bangladesh were 32 for two at the same stage. The 227-run chase, set up by their bowlers again, was reduced to a stroll when Guptill and captain Kane Williamson added 143 runs for the second wicket.

Storm Creates Chaos in California with Flooding, Mudslides
Formed by winds associated with storms, they occur globally but are especially significant on the West Coast. Wintry weather closed Interstate 80 across much of Wyoming and sections of at least four other highways.

New Zealand won the opening ODI easily in Napier and with Williamson rested for the final match, this game at Hagley Oval will be the skipper's last this season.

Mohammed Mithun, who top-scored with 57, put on 75 for the sixth wicket with Sabbir Rahman (43) and at 168-5 in the 35th over, Bangladesh was in a good position to launch.

Taylor then put down another at slip, again off Ferguson, when Mohammad Mithun, who top scored in the first match with 62, was on five.

Lockie Ferguson was the best of the New Zealand bowling attack, taking 3-43, while Todd Astle and James Neesham took two wickets each.

It was a weird first over from de Grandhomme, who bowled three wides in his first four deliveries and sent down five wides in what proved a long opening over. New Zealand, however, assisted the Bangladesh revival with 23 extras and some sloppy fielding while Rahman had fortune on his side when an edge off a delivery from Astle nicked the stumps but the bails stayed on.

But Taylor dropped two catches in the following overs. Guptill, who struck three of his four sixes back past the bowler, eventually fell in the 29th over with New Zealand needing just 39 to win. After being 0-1 down in a three-match series, it is always hard to bounce back and Bangladesh would have to play out of their skin to make a mark in the series.
