Broncos to trade for Joe Flacco

Joe Flacco is headed to Denver.

The Broncos will complete a trade next month for Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco, a source confirmed this morning. Without a solid quarterback under center, it's hard for an National Football League team to have any kind of success.

With Keenum under center for the whole year, the Broncos only managed to win six games and they failed to reach the playoffs for the third-straight season. However, it's unlikely that Denver's front office views Flacco as the team's long-term answer at quarterback, due to the 34-year-old's age and lack of success in recent seasons.

The quarterback play in Denver last season wasn't exactly stellar. John Elway who runs the Broncos knows this more than anybody as he was a legendary quarterback himself.

However, in a turn of events, while trying to get away the robbers dropped one single piece of jewellery which turned out the be the "sentimental" necklace.

The Ravens went 72-40 in Flacco's first seven seasons with the team, but dropped to 24-27 in his final four years as the starter.

What the Broncos will give up for Flacco is unclear although NFL Network reported that it will be a mid-round pick. He helped lead the team to victory in Super Bowl XLVII and was named Super Bowl MVP in the process.

While the Ravens wanting to move on from Flacco makes quite a bit of sense, the Broncos trading for Flacco is somewhat surprising. I was told teams had been discussing 4th-round pick in exchange. Broncos had two, fourth-round picks - one from Demaryius Thomas trade to Houston.
