Trump might not be a free man in 2020, says Warren

Senator Elizabeth Warren suggested President Trump may be imprisoned within two years during her inaugural presidential campaign address in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Sunday.

US President Donald Trump has frequently attacked US Senator Elizabeth Warren on Twitter.

"Every day, there's a racist tweet, a hateful tweet, something really dark and ugly", Warren said of Trump.

The answer to that question, Warren went on to say, was to avoid the trap of engaging in every one of Trump's actions."Here's how I see it: Donald Trump is not the only problem we've got". "Let him make a full report to the American people and then collectively we can make the decision about what the appropriate next step is".

In January, Warren apologized to the Cherokee Nation after releasing the results of a DNA test that showed a tiny sliver of her ancestry was Native American.

There are also investigations underway into Trump's business and charity dealings, investigators working out whether he is unjustly profiting from his presidency, and whether he violated campaign finance laws. It's no longer just the Mueller investigation. "In fact, he may not even be a free person".

Donald Trump Jr. later posted a screenshot of his father's tweet on Instagram along with a reply by another user that said, "The Native American genocide continues with another murder by the president".

But after Trump mocked her campaign effort, Warren began to get personal as well, pointing to the ongoing investigation into alleged Russian collusion by Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

'Elizabeth Warren has already been exposed as a fraud by the Native Americans she impersonated and disrespected...'

Warren told reporters her comments were a reference to the multiple investigations that have shadowed Trump's presidency.

"What I know about Senator Warren is that she has fought for working families for a heck of a long time", she added.

A former Justice Department legal expert wrote in The New York Times in December saying that Trump technically could be indicted, but that it was unlikely to happen.

Warren has faced criticism from some Native people for amplifying sensitive issues around tribal citizenship versus ancestry, though she never claimed citizenship in a tribe.
