Rohit Sharma might be rested for the T20I series against Australia.
The BCCI selectors will name the T20I, ODI squad for Australia series on February 15th.
The stand-in Indian skipper is now back in India for a while and looks like he's enjoying the time off in the company of his baby daughter.
As per the Hindu, the selectors are mulling rotating the World Cup certainties during the Australia ODI series and giving a go to few other options.
"Workload management of the senior players will definitely be the main area of discussion as we all know that the Indians have been on the road and the selectors and team management have made a conscious effort to ensure that the players get ample rest between games and series". Rohit Sharma, who recently led the team in Virat Kohli's absence against New Zealand, is expected to be rested this time. The selection panel headed by M.S.K. Prasad, in consultation with Kohli and head coach Ravi Shastri, is likely to test fringe batsmen like opener K.L. Rahul and Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane. "But this IPL will be about monitoring the players, keeping the World Cup in mind", Shastri told Cricbuzz in an interview.

India's pace trio - Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Mohammed Shami - could also be given a break to keep them fresh for the World Cup. The IPL franchises have made it clear that they can not rest key India players at least in the first half of the tournament.
Indian wicket-keepers, Dinesh Karthik and Rishabh Pant, could be given more chance.
As a result, the selectors will have to give key players a break to avoid fitness issues during the marquee event.
These latest developments come in the wake of statements made by a chief selector who had said that Rahane and Pant are very much part of the World Cup ambitions and hence, this series could be the opportunity for both players to stake a claim. We have certain plans in place and we'll be looking to follow them.
