Prince William and Kate make angelic appearance at the 2019 Baftas

The royal couple were given a warm welcome from an excited crowd as they walked the red carpet looking regal at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Sunday.

Kate Middleton looked stunning in a white Alexander McQueen gown paired with glittery Jimmy Choo pumps and accessorised with diamond and pearl earrings, which according to foreign media once belonged to Princess Diana.

William, who is president of the British Academy, wore a simple black dinner suit and let his wife's outfit do all of the talking. Prince William joined Kate looking dapper in a traditional tuxedo. She also took a cue from her sister-in-law Meghan Markle and finished off her look with a smoky eye and sparkly lip gloss-something the Duchess of Sussex wore on Thursday during her and Prince Harry's night out at the Endeavour Fund Awards.

Like numerous jewels Kate has inherited from her mother-in-law, she chose to modernize the original design, swapping the pearls worn by Diana (with different diamond detailing) for a smaller more contemporary pearl.

The Favourite, the 18th-century royal drama, kicked off the Awards by winning the prize for best British film.

Queen Colman (who beat out both Lady Gaga and Glenn Close for the evening's honor of Best Leading Actress), now reigns as The Favourite's temperamental Queen Anne, but soon (though Netflix is keeping the deets close to its chest), she'll be welcomed into homes worldwide as The Crown's Elizabeth II, a hand-off from acclaimed predecessor Claire Foy.
