Mohamed Salah out of Super Eagles and Pharaoh’s friendly in Asaba

Mohamed Salah is set to be rested for Egypt's fixtures in March's worldwide break, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) have confirmed to ESPN FC.

On Wednesday, EFA Vice-President Ahmed Shobier disclosed that the fleet-footed forward will not be called up for their last Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Niger Republic and friendly in Nigeria next month.

The 26-year-old forward has been invaluable for his country with his efforts, having helped to fire them to the 2018 World Cup finals in Russian Federation.

Although, Egypt have sealed qualification for this year's AFCON on home soil, the North Africans are still expected to round-off the qualifiers against Niger on March 22.

With Javier Aguirre set to overlook Hegazi, he will be given the chance to ready himself for the domestic challenges to come.

Salah has scored 4 goals for Egypt in the qualifiers and his absence will most likely boost Liverpool's campaigns in the Premier League and the Champions League.

The Reds are scheduled to face Tottenham at Anfield on March 31 - a game that could go a long way to deciding the destination of the Premier League title.
