"Bohemian Rhapsody’s" Rami Malek Recalls Awkward Golden Globes Moment With Nicole Kidman

Bryan Singer, who was sacked as a director on "Bohemian Rhapsody" in the middle of the making, posted a thank you message after the film bagged two awards at the Golden Globes. It has been seen as a controversial pick given the film's credited director, Bryan Singer, was sacked from the production due to "unreliable behaviour".

Responding to why he hadn't thanked Singer in either of his speeches, Malek was firm but evasive: "There's only one thing we needed to do and that was to celebrate Freddie Mercury in this film".

"I had not seen that", Malek said, putting his face in his hands.

It's been shortlisted in the Outstanding British Film, Costume Design, Make-Up & Hair, Cinematography, Editing and Sound categories, while Rami Malek is up for the Leading Actor award. Producer Graham King took to the stage and thanked the audience for the award.

A Star is Born also losing in the prestigious best film (drama) category to Bohemian Rhapsody is a blow, but far from a fatal one, for its Oscar best picture hopes.

Having said that, congratulations to Rami Malek.
