Historic Paramount Ranch, Home To ‘Westworld’, ‘Dr. Quinn’, Destroyed In Woolsey Fire

The historic Western town area at Paramount Ranch in Agoura Hills, Calif., where productions including "Westworld" have shot, burned down Friday in the Woolsey fire, according to the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation area's Twitter feed.

The National Parks Service also confirmed that some of the structures at Paramount Ranch were burned.

KCBS photojournalist John Schreiber shared photos of the damage, showing scorched buildings. Paramount was forced to sell in the early '50s, but businessman William Hertz, a fan of the Western genre, bought a portion of the land and kept up the Old West aesthetic by erecting a permanent town there, which obviously attracted film crews once more.
