Arrivabene says Raikkonen axe 'my decision'

Vettel's World Championship challenge came crumbling down in the second half of the season as mistakes began to creep in to his performances. "I think it's not fair [to say somebody "lost" it]", said Vettel. You do not know exactly what is going on.

"Obviously we have seen some mistakes". But he is a four-time world champion for that reason.

"He has a great team and he will be back to fight again".

Vettel says he is willing to accept the criticism that has been levelled at him for his mistakes this year, but also pointed out that the incidents always feel different from inside the auto. "It was very hard for him".

"Well the first thing is that sometimes it happens and he pushes and pushes and sometimes he gets it wrong and unfortunately it happened to him a few times", Raikkonen said.

"Obviously now it's happened a couple of times too much. He's up there now, but I know he's with us too", said Arrivabene.

"I can only look at myself and it makes no sense to comment on another driver", the Dutchman said.

Kate Middleton dazzles in Princess Diana's tiara at Buckingham Palace dinner
Before marrying into the royal family in 2011, we never saw Kate wearing a tiara in public, and this is all down to etiquette. However, it was the material of the dress that most people commented on with many questioning the "crinkled" fabric.

"I don't want to attack Vettel, but these mistakes do not seem to be a coincidence", Brawn, the sporting boss for F1 owner Liberty Media, is quoted as saying by German media outlet Auto Bild.

Pierre Gasly agreed, suggesting Vettel was even outperforming the Ferrari earlier in the season when he opened up a championship lead.

"It is part of racing".

"Obviously inside the vehicle it always looks a little bit different than you look from 13 different angles and in slow motion and so on and, by that time, even the last person in the paddock might have an opinion. It's a shame because Ferrari was able to give him a really competitive vehicle right from the start of the season".

"Obviously inside the auto things look a little bit different, then you look from 13 different angles and in slow-motion and by that time even the last person in the paddock might have an opinion, so it is obviously different".

The high likelihood is that, barring a rare race retirement for the Mercedes driver, Hamilton will be crowned a five-time world champion at the end of Sunday's Mexican race.

"It is not the first time he is in this position but he is the only one who can answer that question".
