Stephen Hawking concludes ‘there is no god’ in final book

On time travel and teleportation, he is equally hopeful.

A young Stephen Hawking in 1963.

The book was completed by his family after he died at the age of 76 in march 2018 using documents from his personal archives.

In his final book In Brief Answers to the Big Questions, out on Tuesday, Professor Hawking states that he fears wealthy people will begin to edit their own and their children's DNA to create "superhumans" who will be more intelligent and live longer. Stephen Hawking writes in a posthumous book, according to The Sunday Times.

The book is quintessential Hawking.

The questions ranged from whether there really is a heaven, to the likelyhood of alien life.

"I am advocating that all young people should be familiar with and confident around scientific subjects, whatever they chose to do".

Perhaps our prayers should include a petition that we never lose the childlike quality that allows us to look at a tiger's stripes or a baby's fingernails and see God - without question, without investigation, without hesitation.

Many scientists welcomed Hawking's predictions as a means of saving Earth from destruction.

"Do I have faith?" he writes in Brief Answers to the Big Questions. His optimism permeates every page.

This seemed to be the sentiment woven into Hawking's final message.

'The present world order has a future but it will be a very different one'. I have critiqued it elsewhere.

In the new book the late professor also touches on other topics, including how to colonise space.

Hawking argues that we are setting ourselves up for catastrophic failure.

But science held the answers to pressing problems such as global warming, the growing population, renewable energy and epidemic diseases. "On this basis the future looks desperately gloomy", he said.

Only science, Hawking argues, can save us from our mistakes. Hawking was able to lend his brilliant mind to us for decades - and, who knows, maybe his observational powers and deep intelligence were sharpened by his limitations.

Hawking said, 'We are each free to believe what we want, and it's my view that the simplest explanation is that there is no God.

This development will worsen the situation "neposrednih" people, the scientist believes. We must disarm nuclear weapons. It's just wishful thinking.

Stephen Hawking concluded that everyone should "try to make sense of what you see, and wonder about what makes the universe exist".

"Be curious, and however hard life may seem there is always something you can do and succeed at". It matters that you don't give up.

The tenth and last question in the book is "how do we shape the future?"
