Man with cancer told to cover his face in SC convenience store

A community in SC has rallied behind a cancer survivor who said he was told to cover his face while at a store in Walterboro.

Brandy then shared her father's ordeal on Facebook, where it quickly went viral.

"The words that came out of her mouth hurt me so deep".

He added: 'How can a person eat anything with his face covered?'

Evans lost one of his eyes and his nose during a fight with cancer.

Evans said he cannot afford reconstructive surgery and can't wear an eye patch because the skin around his eye is too sensitive.

Kirby Evans' daughter wrote a Facebook post about her dad's experience at Forks Pit Stop in Walterboro, South Carolina. I told him I was very sorry for what had happened to him in his life; that I could tell he had been through a lot with the extreme disformation [sic] of his face.

"Next thing I know, she jerked me into her office", Evans recounted to WCIV. "He can not help what the cancer did to him", she wrote in the post.

'He can not help what the cancer did to him'.

Evans railed against the woman who runs the store in Walterboro where Kirby had bought doughnuts earlier this week and stopped inside to eat them. I do not see absolutely anything wrong with what I did.

'He would come in at lunch time and sit at the food booths right at my busy time every day.

"I promise you he will never ever set foot in that store again!" said Brandy in her post. Brandy said when her dad went to sit down at one of the tables to eat, the owner grabbed him by his shirt, pulled him into her office and told him to cover his face. I had no choice! She posted about the incident on Facebook. "It was running my customers off".

The Daily Wire reached out to Brandy Evans for comment, but as of publication, she has not responded.

The daughter created a Gofundme account to spread awareness.
