3D Gun Maker Cody Wilson Jailed In Texas On Sexual Assault Charge

Mr Wilson runs Defense Distributed, a company that offers blueprints for creating 3D printed guns.

Cody Wilson, the controversial 3D gunmaker, was extradited to the United States from Taiwan and appeared in a Texas courtroom Sunday on felony charges of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl.

Wilson is shown being led through the airport in Taipei, Taiwan, on Friday with a mask and sunglasses covering his face before being extradited to the United States to face charges for paying an underage girl for sex.

He was booked into Harris County jail in Houston on Sunday, according to the jail's website.

He left the Harris County inmate processing center after posting bond.

Cody Wilson under arrest by police in Taipei. Court documents show Wilson showed up in a black Ford Edge four-door sports utility vehicle with a license plate that matches one registered to Wilson's business, Defense Distributed.

The blueprints allow people with 3D printing machines to make their own firearms, which are largely untraceable and not subject to typical gun-sales limitations and requirements.

During a forensic interview with the Center with Child Protection on August 27, the sexual assault victim told counselors she met Wilson through the website, SugarDaddyMeet.com.

United States using false accusations on trade to 'intimidate' countries: China
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo seemed confident on Sunday, however, that the USA would win any potential trade war with China. Trump imposed tariffs for the first time in March this year, levying 25 percent on steel imports and 10 percent on aluminum.

Taiwan's National Immigration Agency said in a statement that Wilson was caught by the police earlier Friday and handed over to immigration authorities to process his deportation.

The girl told investigators that Wilson paid her $500 after they had sex and then dropped her off at a Whataburger restaurant.

Wilson valet-parked at a North Austin hotel and checked in.

Defense Distributed sells blueprints for producing plastic firearms using 3D printers.

"It's also trafficking if a person under 17 years of age is harbored, transported or provided to another", APD said.

He then drove them to a hotel where they had sex. Wilson said this is a secure way of communication that was not included in the judge's order.

Wilson could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted, authorities told ABC Austin affiliate station KVUE-TV.

Wilson - who subscribes to an anarchist philosophy that the free exchange of ideas on the internet is a check on government - then said he interpreted the ruling as only barring the free online distribution of the blueprints, and began offering the files for sale.
