Trump wants 'all the facts' before deciding Rod Rosenstein's fate

President Trump speaks at a spending bill signing ceremony in Las Vegas last week.

The New York Times reported Friday that Rosenstein had discussed secretly recording the president and enlisting Cabinet members to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Trump from office.

The move is likely to be regarded as an effort by Trump to hamstring special counsel Robert Mueller, who has led the Russian Federation probe since the president sacked then-FBI director James Comey in May 2017.

"I'm not unsettled about anything, but I'll tell you what".

Trump called the reports "very sad" and attempted to distance himself from Rosenstein, saying the deputy attorney general had been "hired" by Attorney General Jeff Sessions - even though Trump himself technically announced Rosenstein's nomination to his current position on January 31 previous year.

The New Yorker said 53-year-old Deborah Ramirez described the incident in an interview after being contacted by the magazine. Kavanaugh has denied both accusations, as has The White House, which continues to support his Supreme Court nomination.

George's Chapel, Windsor Castle on May 19. "And I think the other members of the family had a similar reaction". The documentary " Queen of the World " premieres on September 25 on ITV before airing on October 1 on HBO .

ABC News' Mike Levine reported Rosenstein is "is now on his way to the White House, expecting to be fired once he gets there".

According to Reuters, Rosenstein's replacement, by way of legal succession, "would fall to Solicitor General Noel Francisco, according to an internal Justice Department memo on succession from November 2016 that is still in effect". "Jeff Sessions hired him".

Rosenstein made the comment about possibly recording Trump during a May 2017 meeting with Andrew McCabe, who had temporarily been elevated to Federal Bureau of Investigation director following James Comey's firing.

But those close to Trump and some of his allies on Capitol Hill believe that a politically charged firing in advance of the midterm elections will feed a Democratic narrative of chaos in the administration and that the president should wait until November to make any changes at the Justice Department.
