Nintendo to sell NES-style Switch wireless controllers to online service subscribers

The start date for the online service was presumably going to be announced last week during the planned Nintendo Direct, but the presentation was cancelled following a major quake in Japan.

In addition to facilitating online play, Nintendo Switch Online will include access to 20 NES games with online multiplayer components including The Legend of Zelda, Dr. Mario and Super Mario Bros. 3. Special offers will also be made available, but there's not additional information on those at this time. Level up with a Nintendo Switch Online membership!

Nintendo revealed earlier today that their online service is going to launch on September 18th. Stay tuned to Shacknews for additional updates. Perhaps most immediately useful at launch, though, is its promise of allowing cloud saves for any games players have in progress. What's more, you can sync them up with your Switch and actually plug them into the sides, so you can charge them in-between sessions, then use them for play again. If you've got between two and seven accounts, there's also the family plan option for US$34.99 (~RM144.91) a year.
