Kaepernick praises Miami Dolphins for kneeling during national anthem

As the NFL enters the first Sunday of the new season- and Donald Trump continued his attack on protesting players - reports have emerged that the league will not institute a national anthem policy this year.

Colin Kaepernick #7 and Eric Reid #35 of the San Francisco 49ers kneel in protest during the national anthem prior to playing the Los Angeles Rams in their NFL game at Levi's Stadium on September 12, 2016 in Santa Clara, California. The number of players protesting during the anthem has also fallen. In June, the Dolphins were found to have opened up the possibility for a player to receive a four-game suspension if they protested during the anthem.

Kaepernick thanked "his brothers" for continuing to show "unwavering strength by fighting for the oppressed".

Reid tweeted the same message that Kaepernick tweeted (above) regarding the players. Kaepernick said he was drawing national attention to the issue of police brutality against minorities.

The pair were competing together for the first time and were well supported by Mattek-Sands' home crowd. Today things were going against us, we fought really hard to try to get back into the match".

Colin Kaepernick, who spearheaded the movement and has been out of football since, noticed. "There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder". He blamed the poor ratings in Monday's NFL Opener between the Falcons and Eagles, on players taking a knee throughout the year.

"Wow, NFL first game ratings are way down over an already really bad past year comparison", Mr. Trump tweeted.

For Kaepernick, it was never about the military or the flag, but rather what the flag is suppose to represent.
