Fortnite Monopoly unveiled, arrives October 1

Fortnite's dominance over popular culture seems set to continue, as Epic Games have teamed up with Hasbro to release a battle royale inspired edition of Monopoly. Some major changes, however, mean that this isn't just Monopoly with a Fortnite skin over the top, but a pretty new take on the classic game. The list is nearly endless, so slapping one of the year's biggest cultural icons onto another set is just a sure-fire way to get the dollars rolling in.

Specifically, Hasbro explained that the Fortnite nerf blasters will "will immerse fans into the player-versus-player action of the game", and surely will be a treat for fans of the game to utilize some of its iconic weapons in real life. There's even an interesting, non-standard die seen in the image, so expect this version of Monopoly to be quite a bit different from what you're used to.

Fortnite Monopoly will be available from October 1 globally, however neither Hasbro nor Epic Games has revealed the retail price.

Don't let that sway you from buying it, though.

Where’s The Loyalty? Tom Brady’s Son Drafts Matt Ryan As Fantasy QB
This will be the fourth time the AFC foes have played in the past three seasons. It may signify the end of summer, but everyone is glad that football is back.

Just like the video game, the main goal is to be the last one standing. There's a storm that, if it lands on your square, takes takes two health points off you - oh ye, instead of money you have health points, of course.

Also, rather than both dice focusing on movement, one die will determine an action.

If you think normal Monopoly causes your family to rip one another apart, can you imagine what will happen if you chuck a Boogie Bomb into the mix? According to IGN, players have health points instead of cash and each of the two dice have have a unique objective - one is for movement and the other is for "action". This edition will feature new twists on the concept, including gunfights and the encroaching storm, but as long as you can still steal from the bank, I'm good. What else should be included in the package?
